The DATCP’s 2024 Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin (DFW) Board of Directors election is in the books, and a Manitowoc man made the cut.
Mitch Kappelman will represent Calumet and Manitowoc Counties as the District 17 representative.
Kappelman and the seven other board members elected will begin a three-year term on the board beginning July 1st.
Of the 1,625 dairy producers living in affected districts, 16.6 percent returned ballots.
Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin directors review and approve the organization’s annual plan and budget, monitor operations and financial affairs, set Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin policies, and serve on one of two standing committees – Channel Management or Communications.
All directors must be active dairy producers who sell milk into commercial channels and live in the district where they are nominated.
