A local leader in Sheboygan is throwing his hat into the ring for a state Assembly seat.
WHBL reports that Oostburg Village Board President and former Sheboygan County Board Supervisor Brian Hilbelink will be running against Lindee Brill in this November’s general election.
Both Oostburg residents are vying for the 27th Assembly District seat and are running as Republican, meaning a primary is necessary ahead of November.
With the redrawing of the political maps by Governor Tony Evers, Amy Binsfeld no longer lives in the 27th District.
She will instead be running for the 26th District, a seat currently held by Terry Katsma, who announced in April that he would not seek another term.
Either Hilbelink or Brill will face Democrat Kay Ladson for the 27th District seat in November.
