The city of Two Rivers is hosting an all-day electronic waste recycling event.
It takes place at the Two Rivers Utilities building at 1415 Lake Street next door to McDonalds.
The purpose allows for proper recycling to prevent toxic heavy metals and other hazardous waste from harming the local lakes and rivers.
Several items can be recycled for free, including mini-Christmas light strings, rechargeable batteries, computers, laptops, etc.
However, you will have to pay for some items to be taken away including fluorescent lights, LED lightbulbs, and alkaline batteries.
Large appliances, smoke detectors, paint, and chemicals won’t be accepted.
You can find a full list of items at the Two Rivers city website. The recycling event runs from 7:30 a.m. this morning to 5 p.m. tonight.
Electronic items will be collected through Norsec Computer Recyclers.
