Manitowoc Public Utilities has revealed its project plans for 2024.
The City of Manitowoc’s utility provider announced that the water main lines on Franklin Street, Bentwood Lane , Barkwood Lane, and Fleetwood Drive would all be replaced as a part of the city’s street reconstruction projects.
MPU will also be replacing private lead service lines through the EPA’s Lead Service Line Accelerator Program.
Those replacements will specifically focus on what MPU calls “disadvantaged neighborhoods”, but it wasn’t specified which neighborhoods will be addressed.
Lastly, Manitowoc Public Utilities will be working with a yet unnamed engineering firm to create a preliminary design and report for additional water treatment plant capacity.
That project is in accordance with the Water Treatment Plant’s Master Plan.
