A midwife in northern Wisconsin will not face charges in the case of a baby who died during labor last year.
Price County District Attorney Matthew Elroy announced the decision, citing insufficient evidence to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt.
The medical examiner attributed the baby’s death to complications from prolonged labor.
The midwife claimed she was unaware of the duration of the labor before being called in.
