The man who has led the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office since 2018 has officially called it a career.
As we previously reported back in April, Sheriff Cory Roessler’s last day on the job was Monday, when he celebrated 33 and a half years with the department.
He started with the Sheriff’s Department in January of 1991 as a deputy and made his way up the ladder.
In a post on his personal Facebook page, which was shared by the Sheriff’s Office, Roessler stated “Have to thank everyone who supported me as Sheriff over the past 7 years. I have had a blessed 35 1/2 years all totaled in law enforcement. I won’t change a thing if I had to do it all over again. To all my brothers and sisters in Law Enforcement, stay safe and thanks for keeping us safe.”
The search for his replacement is currently ongoing, as Governor Tony Evers’ office began accepting applications shortly after his announcement.
