The Oneida Nation is asking everyone to help end the fentanyl problem.
Mari Kriescher, the Director of Oneida Behavioral Health, announced the start of a program they are calling “Fentanyl is Everywhere,” which has a goal of raising awareness about the synthetic opioid.
The campaign will use digital and physical media, including social media, yard signs, window clings, business card handouts, and outreach to local media to help raise awareness.
Tehassi Hill, the Chairman of the Oneida Nation, stated in the announcement that this program shows that they are not only aware of the problem but that they are “taking specific actions to educate and protect Oneida community members with lifesaving resources and professional support services, as well as supporting our county and private sector partners in their efforts to do the same.”
More information on the drug, including test strips and NARCAN, can be found on the Department of Health Services website.
