Charges have officially been filed in a Fond du Lac Child abuse case where the victim fled from her captor.
Online court records show that 31-year-old Juan Carlos Rocha Mejia has been charged with 1st Degree Child Sexual Assault with a Person Under 16 with Use or Threat of Force or Violence, Child Enticement with Sexual Contact, False Imprisonment, and Strangulation and Suffocation.
Meanwhile, 33-year-old Elia Antonio is charged with Trafficking a Child, Failure to Act/Sexual Assault of a Child, and two counts of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
Antonio is the mother of a 12-year-old girl who had fled from Rocha Mejia on May 19th and ran to a nearby home.
Police learned that Antonio had been taking money from Rocha Mejia in exchange for time with her daughter.
Both Antonio and Rocha Mejia are in the U.S. illegally, and they have been placed on Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainers and had their bond set at $1 million cash each.
Both are due back in court for preliminary hearings on June 7th.
