Two people had to be treated for smoke inhalation after an apartment fire in Appleton.
The Appleton Fire Department received a call at 2:30 Tuesday morning, reporting a fire in the 3400 block of East Canary Street.
Crews arrived to find smoke coming from the second-floor unit, where they found flames in the bathroom.
The fire teams were able to get the fire under control within five minutes, but not before it caused an estimated $150,000 in damage.
While it is not yet known what started the fire, Battalion Chief Joe Scott noted that the smoke alarms in the home were in working order, and activated during the incident.
The Appleton Fire Department was assisted by Appleton Police Department, Gold Cross Ambulance and American Red Cross of Wisconsin.
