
The sectional round of the WIAA State Softball tournament begins today (May 28th), with several local and area teams still in the race.
Starting with Division 3, where the yet unbeaten and top-seeded Mishicot Indians will try to punch their ticket to the Sectional Championship as they host the #2 seed, New Holstein.
The winner will take on either Peshtigo or Wittenberg-Birnamwood in Oconto this Thursday for the right to go to state.
In Division 2, it’s another battle of top two seeds as #2 Plymouth invades Waupun, with the winner traveling to Winneconne Thursday to take on the winner of the Freedom/Seymour matchup.
In Division 4, Random Lake, the #2 seed, is on the road for top-seeded Algoma.
The winner faces either Coleman or Manawa in Crivitz Thursday.
In Division 1, the top seed in the state, Kaukauna, will put their 105-game win streak on the line as they host #5 De Pere.
The winner will take on the winner of the matchup between #3 Green Bay Preble and #2 Ashwaubenon at Pulaski High School this Thursday.
