
A woman fled from police after she stole from a store in Fond du Lac.
The Fond du Lac Police Department dispatched officers to the Wal-Mart on Rolling Meadows Drive at around 10:40 Sunday evening on a report of a woman shoplifting.
When officers arrived, the suspect was leaving the parking lot in a vehicle.
The officers activated their lights and attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the woman sped off, running a red light, and turned onto Highway 41.
A chase ensued, reaching speeds of around 88 miles per hour, before the woman exited onto South Hickory Street and gave herself up.
The 37-year-old Milwaukee resident was arrested without further incident on charges of Felony Retail Theft, Fleeing from an Officer, possession of Marijuana (2nd Offense), and Felony Bail Jumping.
She was hit with a probation and parole warrant and two warrants for shoplifting and retail theft in Waukesha County.
The suspect’s name has not yet been released.
