The gym expansion project at Manitowoc Lutheran High School is not only going well, but it has also had more added to it.
Kevin Buch, the school’s Director of Mission Advancement, tells Seehafer News that the project is maintaining its projected timetable, and they decided to work on another part of the parking lot.
“We recently made the decision to not only add the parking lot but to refinish an existing part of our parking lot that really needs some work, desperately,” he explained.
As for how that affected the budget, Buch says it’s all looking good.
“We had to add a little bit for that parking lot, but we are really close to the number we established,” he noted. “In fact, right now we are under.”
Manitowoc Lutheran Communications Director Paul Durkee commented on the gym itself, noting that it is bigger than he anticipated.
“As soon as the roof went on and we had the whole student body in there, we were all standing there, and it was unbelievable. This space is gigantic,” he said. “What a blessing that we will be able to have events there. We are going to be able to have basketball games, volleyball games, concerts, whatever. You name it. It’s going to be awesome to be able to have that.”
Construction on the 30,000-square-foot gym began in September, and the goal is to have it completed by October.
