The Manitowoc Lincoln baseball team couldn’t quite hold on to a late lead last night and fell to Notre Dame 4-3.
The Ships plated all of their runs in the 5th inning and were riding a great performance on the mound from Noah Wech into the 7th inning.
Cade Grapentine took the mound in the 7th but didn’t record an out before allowing two runners to score and the Tritons to snatch the win.
Brady Hadler, Brayden Steinbecker, and Wech each had two hits on the day, but Benson Dickrell was the only other Shipbuilder to get a hit as the Ships’ bats fell quiet.
The loss drops Lincoln to 20-4 overall and 14-4 in the FRCC, which puts them in 3rd place.
The Ships will complete their brutal three-day, three-game road trip this afternoon in Kaukauna before starting their postseason run next week Thursday.
