A Green Bay woman accused of stealing over $10,000 from a person under her care had her plea hearing set.
61-year-old Tamara Sandoval was in Court on Monday on a felony charge of Theft in a Business Setting with Special Facts where her plea hearing was set for September 10th.
WFRV TV reports that the hearing was initially planned for next week but was moved.
Sandoval was arrested in 2022 after a person she was assigned to be a guardian of called the police.
The individual claimed they were being defrauded, as there were some suspicious transactions on their accounts.
An investigation revealed that between July 2020 and March 2022, over $6,000 was transferred from the victim’s account to Sandoval’s, over $5,000 was used at grocery or convenience stores, $1,300 was taken out at ATMs, and over $1,300 was used at restaurants or gas stations.
Sandoval’s bond was set at $10,000 signature in October of 2022, and since then, several setbacks have caused the case to drag out for nearly two years.
