Federal prosecutors have charged a man from western Wisconsin with using artificial intelligence to create child pornography.
Steven Anderegg from Holmen was indicted by a federal grand jury last week on four counts of producing AI-generated child porn.
He was arrested after investigators found he had sent one of these images to a minor.
If convicted, Anderegg faces up to 70 years in prison.
Prosecutors aim to convey a strong message that AI-generated child pornography will not be tolerated.
