
The Manitowoc County Mariners picked up their first win of the season in front of a home crowd, dispatching the Brown County Blackjacks 48-13.
The Mariners were led by QB Marcos Alfaro II, who went 16-22 with 277 yards through the air while also tossing 3 touchdowns.
Wide receiver Richard Micheaux III was the beneficiary of four of those passes and turned them into 150 yards, while Austin Isley snagged a pair of scores, and Miguel Alfaro caught his second of the season from his brother.
Defensively, Miguel Myers dominated the line and recorded 3 sacks, while linebacker Carson Schemenauer recorded 8 total tackles, and safety Cory Oligney came away with an interception.
The Mariners will be back in action on Saturday, June 1st, against the Illinois Cowboys.
Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at Ron Rubick Municipal Field.
