The Hazardous Waste Clean Sweep gets underway today.
Pre-registered farms and businesses can go to the Manitowoc County Highway shop, located at 3500 Highway 310, this afternoon.
Farmers can drop off chemicals from active and abandoned farms for disposal including livestock, grain, holiday trees, poultry, fruit, vegetables, and aquaculture.
But if you’re a non-agricultural operation that’s bringing farm chemicals, you must register as a business.
Other businesses can bring manufacturing and process chemicals and sludges to be properly disposed of at the Clean Sweep.
Residents get to go on Saturday (May 16th) to drop off their hazardous waste.
Those who live in Manitowoc County can bring pesticides and other chemicals like oil, gas, antifreeze, pool chemicals, and more.
However, other items like latex paint, anything explosive, tires, or appliances will not be accepted.
The residential drop-off takes place from 9:00 a.m. until noon.
