A Sheboygan County veteran support organization has been named the recipient of a state grant.
WHBL reports that Dogs2DogTags is one of nine non-profits around the state to receive a portion of $10 million in Veteran Mental Health Community-Based Organization Grant funding.
The Plymouth based organization trains dogs to be paired with veterans struggling with their mental health.
They are getting $77,000 to help complete that mission.
Torre Willdadsen came up with the idea for the organization in 2012 while deployed as a civilian contractor working with dogs.
Since its foundation, Dogs2DogTags has helped numerous veterans get paired with the right canine for them as they work through PTSD and anxiety issues.
