Residents of Two Rivers are invited to participate in this year’s edition of the Front Yard Vegetable Garden program.
The initiative started last year on a trial basis, with some residents being given the opportunity to create small veggie gardens in their yards that met certain requirements.
Darla LeClair, the City Councilwoman who is also a member of the City’s Environmental Advisory Board and the driving force behind the program, calls it a “health-focused initiative that’s going to allow our residents the freedom and opportunity to eat healthier, have a more diverse selection of produce, keep grocery costs down…and know where food comes from.”
She also says it is the “perfect solution for those who wish to cut grocery costs & eat healthier but have backyards too small or too shaded to achieve this goal.”
You can learn more about it by visiting Two-Rivers.org or by calling the Public Works Engineering Department at 920-793-5539.
