The man accused of stabbing his mother has been sentenced.
According to court documents on CCAP, Judge George Limbeck has ordered 22-year-old Daquan Jackson to spend 7 years in prison and 15 years of extended supervision after he previously pleaded guilty to one count of Attempted 1st Degree Intentional Homicide.
Court records state that Jackson’s mother had confronted him about cleaning the basement of a home on North 21st Street.
That is when Jackson pulled out a knife and stabbed her several times.
The sentence is slightly less than what the state recommended, which was 10 years in prison and 20 years on extended supervision, but it was slightly higher than what the defense asked for, which was 5 years in prison.
