A Green Bay man is facing charges after he allegedly brutally attacked and killed his neighbor’s cat.
According to FOX11, 25-year-old Zachary Hallet was taken into custody after a women called police to report her cat had been killed.
The pet had escaped from her home the night before, and the following day, she reported seeing Hallet attacking the feline with a hammer and strangling it.
Hallet for his part, denied any wrongdoing, stating he only knew about the cat from a poster his neighbor had left on his garage door.
He has been charged with Mistreatment of an Animal Causing Death, and had his bail set at $2,5000 cash.
Hallet will be back in court on May 20th for his preliminary hearing.
