A gas station robbery in Manitowoc ended up being a multi-jurisdictional event.
According to Lieutenant Cooper Schmidt with the Manitowoc Police Department, officers were dispatched to the BP Gas Station on Calumet Avenue at around 11:45 Thursday morning on a report of a robbery.
The suspect had fled before police arrived, leading to a search with the use of drones and K9 Rocky, who did find valuable evidence discarded by the suspect.
He also led police to a nearby apartment complex, where it was learned through video surveillance that the suspect was picked up by someone in that area.
The suspect was later spotted in Green Bay, and was detained by the US Marshals Service, Great Lakes Regional Task Force without incident.
The yet unidentified suspect is currently in the Manitowoc County Jail awaiting criminal charges.
The Manitowoc Police Department is issuing a thank you to the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office, K9 Rocky, and the United States Marshals Service for their help in the case.
