It was a great day for fans of Kiel baseball, as two major milestones were reached yesterday (May 8th).
The Raiders held a doubleheader with Brillion, with the Eastern Wisconsin Conference crown lying in the balance.
Kiel came in at 10-0 in the EWC, while the Lions were 9-1 in conference play. In game one, Eyan Desselleir dominated on the mound, leading to a 10-1 victory for the Raiders.
Game two also went Kiel’s way, as they jumped out to a 4-0 lead and cruised to a 13-2 win.
With that win, the Raiders not only secured the top spot in the EWC, an achievement they fell two wins short of last season, but Head Coach Bray Mey also recorded his 200th career win.
With just five games left in the regular season schedule, Kiel is riding a 16-game win streak after starting the season 0-3.
They are next slated for action Friday as they travel to Oostburg. Brillion, meanwhile, fell to 13-5 and saw a seven-game win streak come to an end.
They will try to rebound in Mishicot on Saturday.
