The search for Elijah Vue is now in its eleventh week, and the Two Rivers Police Department is asking internet sleuths to stop spreading misinformation.
There are several Facebook groups dedicated to talking about the case, and in these groups and on personal accounts, Police Captain Andrew Raatz said people were incorrectly stating that the Two Rivers Police Department refused to work with a group called Midwest EquuSearch.
In fact, Raatz stated, “At no time has any local, state or federal agency denied a volunteer organization from participating in any search nor have they needed our permission to engage in a search… We have actively requested and encouraged the help of volunteers.”
Search efforts this past week even included the use of canine and equestrian resources.
The State Division of Criminal Investigation maintains the lead agency on the case, with the Two Rivers Police, Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office, and FBI all aiding in the efforts.
Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to submit it on the P3 Tips app or call the state tip line at 844-267-6648.
