A K9 Officer with the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office has added more trophies to his collection.
K9 Rocky and Deputy Johnathan Schwede have completed their annual certification for dual-purpose patrol canine work and competed in the canine seminar/challenge.
Out of a total of 50 teams, K9 Rocky and Deputy Schwede earned 2nd place finishes in the Narcotics Scramble and the obstacle course/skills course and also finished 3rd in the building search for an individual.
Additionally, the duo were named the top overall team and were awarded the 2024 Jessiffany Championship Belt.
There was a total of 12 different events during the course of the three-day event, including events aimed at evaluating the teams’ ability to detect narcotics, search buildings, apprehend suspects, and their overall chemistry together while performing patrol-related scenarios.
