Woodland Dunes is putting on two events to celebrate its 50th anniversary.
The Dunes will have an open house on Friday, May 17th, for members and non-members alike to celebrate, Executive Director Sue Crowley says.
Beginning at 8:30 am, the first of four guided hikes gets underway with the open house beginning at 9:00 am.
At 12:45 that afternoon, Crowley will welcome guests and have an open mic for guests to share their memories and stories about Woodland Dunes.
There will also be refreshments and door prizes drawn every hour.
Visitors can also enter to win a $700 pair of binoculars. On Saturday the 18th, their Bird Breakfast takes place from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Nature Center.
It will cost $6 for a ticket to attend, with kids 4 years old and under being free.
Reservations are also required for the breakfast and guided bird hikes.
