The Manitowoc County Expo Center will be the place to see horses this weekend.
The 35th year for Horse-A-Rama takes place tomorrow (April 5th) beginning at 8 am.
Organization Spokeswoman Marilyn Lentz says the event started as a horse fair for 30 years but then the event was changed to an event to help teach people how to show their horses.
“Halter classes are where they look at the confirmation of the horse to see if they meet breed standards,” she explains. Basically, it’s a beauty show to see who’s the prettiest horse. And then after that, we have some showmanship classes, and that is done more so the person on how well they show their horse.”
Attendees also get the chance to get lessons on how to ride a horse, and another class looks at how well they ride, too.
The event is free to the public and will include food and drinks on the grounds.
Lentz says last year the event went on until about 3 pm, so it’s a good idea to show up early.
