The bond for the mother of missing 3-year-old Elijah Vue isn’t changing.
Judge Robert Dewane, on Tuesday morning (April 30th), denied a motion to change a cash bond to a signature bond for 31-year-old Katrina Baur.
Her attorney, Ann Larson, argued that although Baur had prior convictions, she always made her court dates.
She also has no money to her name and would live around Manitowoc County instead of returning to Wisconsin Dells, where she’s from.
District Attorney Jackie LeBre said Baur is a flight risk and has proven multiple times that she can’t make it to court on time and that the felony she’s charged with is very serious.
Dewane agreed with LeBre saying this case is different from her other cases, plus, he stated that she could be followed if released.
Baur’s next court date is set for May 28th at 4 pm so Larson can look over some new evidence that the district attorney’s office has found.
Baur allegedly sent Elijah to the home of 39-year-old Jesse Vang for “disciplinary purposes” before he went missing on February 20th.
She’s charged with chronic neglect of a child as a party to a crime, neglecting a child, and two counts of resisting or obstructing a peace officer. Vang will be back in court on June 28th.
