Wisconsin is set to receive a substantial sum of $4.6 million to bolster efforts in preserving its coastal habitats.
With the funding split between two vital projects, a significant portion will be allocated to the acquisition and management of over a thousand acres along Lake Superior’s coastline in Iron County.
Additionally, resources will be directed toward restoring the upper segment of the Valley Creek corridor, thereby mitigating future flooding risks.
This financial infusion, part of the federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law’s nationwide allocation of $75 million, underscores Wisconsin’s commitment to environmental conservation.
