The man convicted of killing another inmate at the Green Bay Correctional Institution is back in court.
Joshua Scolman was previously convicted in the death of Timothy Nabors in 2022, with the stabbing being ruled a hate crime.
Scolman is white, while Nabors and another inmate injured in the attack, Lamonte Washington, are both black.
FOX11 reports that a jury is going to decide if Scolman had a mental disease at the time of the attack.
In his initial trial, he pleaded not guilty by reason of mental disease, and if it were determined that was true, Scolman would be re-housed in a secure mental facility
He was previously sentenced to be in prison until 2058 for a drunk driving crash that killed three people in 2006.
