The Green Bay Police Department is asking for help as they piece together what led to the death of a 22-year-old Bellevue woman.
The body of Ivonne Benitez was recovered from the East River on April 20th, and an autopsy has confirmed that there was no foul play in her death.
Very little has been released regarding what led to Benitez ending up in the river, but we do know she was reported missing five days prior to being discovered by a search party.
The Green Bay Police Department and the Brown County Sheriff’s Office have praised the public for their assistance so far but are also asking for anyone with any information on where Benitez may have been the days prior or if they have any surveillance footage that could be related to contact Sgt Kyle Von Loh with the Sheriff’s Office.
You can either give him a call at 920-448-6216 or email kyle.vonloh@browncountywi.gov.
If you prefer to remain anonymous, you can submit video via the P3 tips app.
Additionally, Benitez’s family in Manitowoc, Two Rivers, and the Green Bay area have set up a GoFundMe page to help cover the funeral expenses.
