A home in Sheboygan caught fire Monday evening.
Crews were sent out to the 1600 block of Ontario Avenue just before 7:30 p.m. on a report of a structure fire.
When they arrived, crews reported seeing a large amount of smoke emanating from the second story of the home.
All of the occupants had already evacuated, so the firefighters were able to take down the flames within five minutes of arriving.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but we do know it caused an estimated $10,000 in damage and left five people displaced.
Battalion Chief Chase Longmiller is reminding residents of the importance of having working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
