The Fond du Lac Police Department was involved in a chase Monday afternoon (April 22nd).
Officers were called to SSM Health – St. Agnes Hospital at around 12:30 p.m. on a report of a woman who had brought her boyfriend there after he assaulted someone and destroyed property at a residence in the 600 block of East Merrill Avenue.
Officers noted that the man was “exhibiting bizarre and erratic behaviors, severe agitation, and violence towards others” and even slammed his girlfriend into the side of a vehicle.
He then got into the driver’s seat and sped off, leading to officers and Sheriff’s Deputies swarming the area.
The suspect entered a nearby Dairy Queen, reportedly entered the food service area, and injured two employees before being forced out.
The man again fled in a vehicle, making his way to the South Hills Golf & Country Club, where he crashed into a bridge on the golf course.
A homeowner told officers that the man had run behind his house, where he was located, and was taken into custody without further incident.
The man, whose name was not released, was returned to SSM Health for treatment before being booked into the Fond du Lac County Jail on multiple charges.
