A street in Manitowoc is getting a new name.
The Common Council approved renaming Clay Pit Rd to Chiefs Way starting at 21st Street.
The change comes as the Manitowoc Chiefs Youth Football Program will fundraise to upgrade its current facility into a “Field of Dreams.”
The project includes new lights, permanent bleachers, and a new scoreboard. There will also be improvements to the parking area and concession stand.
Fundraising for the project will get underway shortly. Manitowoc’s council approved the upgrade at their March meeting.
