Nicolae Miu, convicted of killing a teenager and injuring four others in an incident on the Apple River, will receive his sentencing nearly two years after the crime occurred.
A judge has set Miu’s sentencing for July 31st. Last week, he was found guilty of reckless homicide for the death of a 17-year-old on the river in July 2022.
While Miu claims self-defense, prosecutors argue that he instigated the violence by wielding a knife.
Miu faces a potential sentence of 60 years in prison.
