With their backs against the wall, the Manitowoc Lincoln baseball team showed their grit and determination last night as they came from behind to beat Bay Port 4-1.
Lincoln trailed 1-0 until the Ships rallied for 4 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning. Noah Welch tied the game with a 2-out single.
Then, the eventual game-winner scored on a passed ball with the bases loaded.
Gavin Lettenberger gave the Ships some insurance with a clutch 2-run single, while Brayden Steinbecker earned the win with 6 innings of 3-hit baseball.
Wech picked up the save to secure the Ships’ 7th win in a row.
Lincoln continues its homestand when it hosts a very good De Pere team on Friday, with a first pitch set for 4:30 p.m.
