A lawsuit has been initiated with the aim of securing electronic absentee ballots for disabled voters in Wisconsin.
Disability Rights Wisconsin and the League of Women Voters filed the suit in Dane County, asserting that the current voting procedures discriminate against disabled individuals by denying them the ability to cast their ballots independently and in secret.
While electronic absentee ballots are presently available exclusively to military members in the state, the lawsuit seeks to expand this option to accommodate disabled voters.
The potential impact of such a ruling remains uncertain, as the exact number of disabled voters eligible for electronic ballots is yet to be determined.
