There were a pair of quadrangular track meets yesterday involving local squads.
Reedsville hosted Manitowoc Lutheran, Hilbert, and St. Mary Catholic, with the Zephyrs earning team wins by the boys and girls. Manitowoc Lutheran came second in both categories, while the host Panthers finished 3rd in the boy’s meet and 4th on the girl’s side.
The Lancers’ Trenton Schuettplez earned a pair of top finishes in the 110 meter hurdles and the triple jump, while Gabriel Stuebs and Braden Revak won the 200 and 400 meter races, respectively. Malachi Hulse was top dog in the discus throw, and the 4×100 relay of Kamden Baye, Matthias Buege, Noah Dillon, and Ben Harrison also finished on top. Lancer girls to earn top finishes were Maren Dewane in the 100 meter, Elizabeth Blauert in the 200 meter, and Stevie Brunner in the 400 meter, while Ava Stuebs, Brooke Duveneck, Bella Flores went 1, 2, 3 in the high jump
The Panthers were led by Hunter Taddy’s two first place finishes in the 800 and 1600 meter races, while Deegan Bubolz won the long jump, and was a part of the winning 4×200 relay alongside Howie Xeman, Wiliam Taddy, and Logan Loppnow.
Meanwhile at the Chilton Quadrangular, the host school won the girls side, while Kiel came second followed by Sheboygan Falls and Brillion. On the guys side, Kiel took top honors, followed by Sheboygan Falls, Brillion, and Chilton.
The Raiders boys to earn top finishes were Adler Curry in the 400-meter race, Pierce Arenz in the 1600-meter and Ethan Vander Meer 3200 meter, along with the 4×200 relay team of Braden Aprill, Trey Barts, Nathan Kienbaum, and Chaz Blanke and the 4×800 relay team of Hayden Cafferty, Sam Keuler, Aiden Murphy, and Owen Korb. Field competitors to finish on top were pole vaulter Austin Riesterer, Nathan Kienbaum in the triple jump, and Ryan Schad in the discus throw.
The Kiel girls dominated the relay races, with the 4×200 team of Sara Riebe, Jayda Arenz, Maddison McDole, and Courtney Faust, the 4×400 team of Riebe, Haley Helms, Isabella Halfmann, and Faust, and the 4×800 team of Helms, Addison Vogel, Nina Kraus, and Lily Larson earning gold medals. Larson also won the 1600-meter race, while Lily Watson claimed the 3200-meter race, Maddison McDole finished 1st in the high jump, and Jayden Arenz won the triple jump.
The Lions were led by Lucas Mathes, who won the 800 meter race, William VanderZanden who was first in the high jump, and Logan Schmidt, who threw the firthest in the shot put, while the 4×400 relay team also won. Two girls also claimed wins. Camdyn Guevara-Derber was first in the 800-meter race, while Sophia Galoff went the highest in the pole vault event.
Chilton girls to earn wins were shot and discus thrower Erietta Davis, along with runners Morgan Mueller in the 400, Maddie Mertz in the 300 hurdles, and 100-meter runner Samatha Kiehler, who was also a part of the winning 4×100 meter relay team alongside Amber Anhalt, Adeline Bodinger, and Taylor Byrge. Aiden Wittmus was the lone winner for the boy’s side, claiming the top spot in the 100 and 200-meter races.
