The Valders softball team picked up a dominant win last night.
They took down Oostburg 12-2 in front of a home crowd to win their second in a row.
Makayla Dallas and Claire Zipperer went 3 for 4 at the plate, while Megan Hockhammer earned the win on the mound.
She allowed only 1 hit and 4 walks while striking out a whopping 16 batters.
Meanwhile, Kiel fell in an extra-inning affair to Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah 7-6.
Coach Jennifer Neils reports that the squad plated 5 runs in the first inning but couldn’t quite hold on.
Liz Neils went 2-4 with 2 doubles and an RBI, Aubri Freund had an RBI double, and Addi Karls, Greta Schaeuble, and Sabrina Boyer each had an RBI single.
Both the Vikings and the Raiders and three other teams are slated to have doubleheaders today as a part of the EWC Softball Extravaganza at Citizen Park in Manitowoc.
The noon games will pit Two Rivers against Brillion, Mishicot against Roncalli, Valders against New Holstein, and Kiel against Chilton.
Then at 2:00 p.m., Brillion will square off with Mishicot, Two Rivers will battle New Holstein, Roncalli will face Kiel, and Valders will take on Chilton.
