The winter moratorium for Manitowoc Public Utilities customers ends today (April 15th).
That means to avoid disconnection, MPU urges customers to make payment arrangements and, if eligible, apply for energy assistance.
There is a list of guidelines and income requirements before you can get assistance, which can be found in the flyer sent with your recent bill.
Assistance applications are processed and, once approved, will appear as a credit on your bill.
The moratorium was put in place during winter so customers could have heat without worrying about paying for it, especially during days when it would be super cold.
