The ongoing I-41 reconstruction project between De Pere and Appleton will cause some more traffic issues this week.
According to the DOT project website, the entire stretch of the highway between Richmond Street and Highway 15 will be closed all week, but the majority of the closures will take place on Wednesday (April 17th).
The southbound section of I-41 between Wisconsin Avenue and Richmond Street will be closed overnight, starting at 11:00 p.m.
Motorists can use a detour on Highway 47 to Highway 96.
Additionally, the southbound on ramp from Richmond Street will be closed from 7:00 p.m. Wednesday to 6:00 the next morning, and the exit ramp to Highway 15 will be closed from 11:00 to 6:00 Thursday morning.
As we stated last week, Capitol Drive over I-41 between North Capitol Court and Northridge Lane will be closed through August.
This widening project is expected to take around five years to complete.
