A fire broke out early Sunday morning (April 14th) near 8th and Hayes in Milwaukee, claiming the life of an elderly woman and causing serious burns to a firefighter.
The blaze engulfed three houses, with one completely consumed by flames, while the fire spread to two neighboring residences.
Despite being trapped for ten minutes, the injured firefighter managed to escape from one of the burning homes.
The firefighter sustained burns covering 23 percent of their body.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
