
Municipalities around northeast Wisconsin were given around $16.5 million for continuing road projects.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation says the funds are for General Transportation, Connecting Highway, and Expressway Policing Aids for transportation-related projects.
All the cities, towns, and villages in Manitowoc got a portion of the funding, with the city of Manitowoc receiving $534,048 and the city of Two Rivers receiving about $115,666.
Altogether, the county received about $1.4 million. In Sheboygan County, the city received about $642,500, while the city of Sheboygan Falls got about $122,300.
The county received about $1.5 million for every municipality. In Calumet County, cities like Brillion got about $47,799, Chilton got $50,000, and New Holstein received about $43,800. Calumet County’s total fund was about $601,000.
Wisconsin DOT Secretary Craig Thompson says, “Efficient and resilient transportation infrastructure starts in our counties, cities, villages, and towns. Thank you to all the municipal leaders in Wisconsin for their cooperative work to improve our roads and bridges.”
Over $101 million goes toward general transportation aids. A total of $106 million went around the state for transportation projects.
