A Winnebago man is facing a litany of charges after he allegedly broke into his ex-girlfriend’s house and abducted her children.
According to WFRV TV, a Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy spotted a vehicle at around 2:30 p.m., which the deputy believed was trying to avoid detection.
The deputy followed the vehicle, driven by 25-year-old Jonathan Tafolla, as he pulled into a parking lot in Bellevue.
He immediately got out of his car and fled on foot.
He was eventually caught carrying a young child with another child walking next to him.
He put the child on the ground and sprinted away but was eventually caught.
It was then learned that the children belonged to Tafolla’s ex-girlfriend and that he had just abducted them.
The mother detailed the incident, where Tafolla allegedly kicked down the door and took the children and her car.
He is now facing eleven charges, including Intimidation of a Victim, Criminal Damage to Property, and two counts of Forceful Abduction of a Child.
Tafolla’s bond was set at $50,000 cash, and he is due back in court for a preliminary hearing on April 19th.
