The Manitowoc Police Department has taken over a fire investigation after a man was found dead.
The Manitowoc Fire/Rescue Department, along with police, arrived at the scene of a fire in the 2500 block of Wollmer Street just before 5:00 Wednesday evening.
During the fire suppression efforts, the body of a 52-year-old man was found inside the home.
Manitowoc Police Lieutenant Kimberly Albright tells Seehafer News that Detectives have taken over the case, but very little additional information has been released.
It is also not clear if the man died from the flames and smoke or if he was deceased before the fire started.
