The president of the Village of Allouez is looking to take a step up the political ladder.
Jim Rafter has announced that he is throwing his hat in the ring for the District 30 Wisconsin State Senate seat.
Rafter has spent 10 years helping lead Allouez, including eight years as the president.
In his announcement, Rafter pointed to his history of being a “proactive advocate for Allouez residents and businesses and the needs of the Brown County area.”
He said his run for Senate is driven by a commitment to continue his work in public service, leveraging his in-depth understanding of local government dynamics to benefit a wider constituency.
The Senate District 30 covers Allouez, Ashwaubenon, De Pere, a small portion of Ledgeview, half of the Town of Rockland, and nearly all of the City of Green Bay.
