Manitowoc Public Utilities has been honored for its ability to keep the lights on in Manitowoc in a safe and reliable manner.
The American Public Power Association has granted MPU the distinction of being a Diamond-level Reliable Public Power Provider, meaning the local utility demonstrates proficiency in reliability, safety, workforce development, and system improvement.
This is the fourth time MPU has received this honor, and with the distinction lasting three years, this is the third in a row.
Additionally, the local utility was granted the Safety Award of Excellence by the APPA for its safe operating practices in 2023.
MPU General Manager Troy Adams said of the honor, “I am very proud of our employees for their hard work and proud of the MPU Commission for their governance leading to achieving, and sustaining, this designation for MPU. This puts MPU in a great position to provide value to our community now and into the future.”
