The sprawling expansion of I-41 between De Pere and Appleton is going to cause several closures this week.
According to the project website, North and Southbound I-41 will be closed between Wisconsin Avenue and Richmond Street in Appleton through Thursday. Motorists are being detoured onto Highway 96 to connect the two sections.
Additionally, the northbound on-ramps from Highway 96 and Highway 15, the on-ramps from Richmond Street, the northbound exit ramps to Highway 15 and Richmond Street, and the southbound exit ramp to Highway 15 will also be closed throughout the week.
Drivers are also being warned of expected reduced northbound lanes between Prospect Avenue and Highway 96 and reduced southbound lanes between Ballard Road and Richmond Street through Thursday.
Finally, Capitol Drive over I-41 between North Capitol Court and Northridge Lane will be closed through August.
This project is expected to take a total of five years to complete.
