Although details aren’t being announced yet, more development projects will be near the Cobblestone Hotel in Two Rivers.
City Manager Greg Buckley says that after discussing the project in closed session, the council voted in open session to direct staff and the city’s plan commission to an amendment for a public hearing on the development. This amendment allows direct assistance for the expansion of one business and allows a new business to be built where the former Elks Club is.
Buckley says the TID has been very successful.
“The hotel is generating more in tax revenues than was anticipated,” he explained. “It was anticipated these two new development projects, between them, represent about a $1.8 million investment downtown.”
What the businesses will become is yet to be announced.
