A fire in Green Bay has left five adults and three children without a home.
According to the Green Bay Metro Fire Department, crews were sent to the 200 block of Imperial Lane at around 10:00 Thursday morning on a report of a fire in a multifamily dwelling.
Smoke was seen by the responding firefighters coming from the roof and the eaves of the structure.
All eight residents had evacuated by the time fire teams arrived, so they were able to quickly jump into action.
Crews were able to extinguish the flames within about 20 minutes, but not before the fire caused an estimated $50,000. No injuries were reported.
The Department’s Fire Marshal’s Office is currently investigating the cause of the fire, and the Red Cross is assisting the affected residents.
